As we head into the Christmas 2025 shopping season, one of the key policy updates for sellers on Walmart and Amazon marketplaces is the extended holiday return window. Both platforms are giving shoppers more time to return gifts after the holidays.
Amazon’s 2025 Extended Holiday Returns
Amazon has announced that for the 2025 holiday season, purchases made between November 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025 will be eligible for return until January 31, 2026. In other words, the return window is “extended” to include most of January after the holidays.
- This extended return policy applies to seller-fulfilled, FBA, and Amazon retail orders.
- Exception: Apple brand products can be returned through January 15, 2026.
- Returns eligibility for all orders remains the same, so review the Amazon Return Policy for full details.

Walmart’s 2025 Extended Holiday Returns
According to Walmart’s official return policy FAQ, most items purchased in-store or online from October 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025 are returnable until January 31, 2026.
Keep in mind that Walmart Marketplace seller participation may vary depending on the products. Exceptions include wireless phones, protection plans, major appliances, Dyson products, food, beverages and select seasonal and luxury goods; for more details, refer to the official Walmart Return Policy and Seller-fulfilled returns policy.
