Walmart Opens U.S. Marketplace to Mexico

Mexican shoppers can now purchase eligible products directly from Walmart.com, giving them access to hundreds of thousands of additional products sold through Walmart’s U.S. Marketplace.

Previously, Mexican shoppers were limited to products available through Walmart’s local e-commerce operations. Now, they can browse eligible items on Walmart.com, place orders from Mexico, and have products shipped across the border. During checkout, Walmart displays duties, taxes, and shipping costs upfront so customers can see the total cost before purchasing.

Mexico is the first international market to receive direct access to Walmart’s U.S. Marketplace, significantly expanding product selection across categories such as electronics, home goods, apparel, toys, and more.

How to Shop Walmart.com from Mexico

Shopping on Walmart.com from Mexico is simple. First, change your shipping location and select Mexico as your destination country.

Walmart will then show eligible products that can be shipped to Mexico, including many items sold by Walmart Marketplace sellers in the United States.

When you add products to your cart and proceed to checkout, Walmart displays all shipping costs, duties, taxes, and import fees upfront, so there are no surprises. Interestingly, on some higher-value purchases, Walmart appears to cover part or all of the international shipping costs, making cross-border shopping even more attractive for Mexican customers.

What It Means for Walmart Sellers

This expansion could create additional sales opportunities for Walmart Marketplace sellers without requiring a separate Mexico marketplace account.

Orders will be fulfilled through Walmart’s U.S. network, while shipping and customs processing will be managed through Walmart’s cross-border infrastructure.

Walmart Continues Investing in Mexico

The announcement comes as Walmart de México plans to invest approximately MX$43 billion (US$2.4 billion) in 2026. A large portion of the investment will support new stores, supply chain improvements, automation, and technology initiatives.
