Walmart Introduces New Policy for Inactive Seller Center Accounts

Walmart has announced a new policy for Marketplace accounts that remain inactive for an extended period.

Starting with this policy, a Walmart Marketplace account may be suspended after 455 consecutive days of inactivity.

Walmart considers an account inactive when there are:

  • No sales
  • No Seller Center logins
  • No API activity through the Developer Portal

Walmart will send notifications by email and SMS before suspension, including alerts after 180, 300, and 425 days of inactivity.

If an account is suspended, the seller has 90 days to submit an appeal and request reactivation. If the account remains suspended without a successful appeal, it may be terminated after 545 days.

For sellers using integrations such as GeekSeller, it is worth noting that API activity counts as account activity, so actively connected accounts should generally not be considered dormant.

The policy was announced by Walmart on October 5, 2026.
