Walmart Updates Jewelry and Precious Metals Guidelines

Walmart just released updated guidelines for selling jewelry, watches, gemstones, coins, and precious metals on Walmart Marketplace. If you’re selling these items, make sure you meet the new requirements.

All jewelry and precious metal listings must clearly state:

  • Metal type (e.g., gold, silver)
  • Purity (e.g., 14K, 925)
  • Application method (e.g., plated, solid)
  • Weight (e.g., grams, ounces)

Walmart also requires pre-approval from their Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance team before selling items in this category.

Listings must avoid misleading claims and follow specific rules for labeling gemstones and metals.

  • Conflict minerals and real currency are not allowed.
  • Only approved sellers can offer bullion, collectible coins, and natural gemstones.
