Walmart has opened applications for selling Pre-Owned products to all Marketplace sellers. Starting December 15, 2025, sellers can apply through the Exclusive Programs page in Seller Center and start offering Pre-Owned items on Walmart.com. While the Resold program is still invite-only, the Pre-Owned option makes refurbished and used inventory more accessible to a broader group of sellers without requiring an invitation.
Pre-Owned vs Resold
Walmart now offers two resale programs, and the key difference is access and quality level.
- The new Pre-Owned program is open to all Marketplace sellers who meet performance standards and allows selling used, open-box, or refurbished items under standard resale requirements.
- The Resold program, on the other hand, is invite-only and designed for sellers who specialize in professionally refurbished, high-quality products with stricter inspection, testing, and compliance rules.
In short, Pre-Owned is the entry point to selling resale items on Walmart, while Resold is a premium program for vetted sellers with advanced refurbishment capabilities.
What’s new
All Marketplace sellers in good standing can now apply to sell Pre-Owned items. This includes both U.S. and international sellers. Approval depends on meeting Walmart’s Seller Performance Standards and compliance requirements.

Key requirements to know
Pre-Owned and Resold items must be inspected, tested, cleaned, and restored to proper working condition. Items must be unlocked, updated to the latest supported firmware, and free of customer data. Screens must be damage-free, batteries must meet specific guidelines, and accessories must be compatible.
Walmart strictly prohibits counterfeit products. Any violations can lead to account suspension or termination.
Fulfillment and returns
Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) items are eligible. Resold and Pre-Owned items generally require extended return windows of up to 90 days, depending on condition. Pricing should be lower than the new version of the same product, and most resale items are not eligible for the Buy Box.
Why this matters
This change lowers the barrier to entry for sellers looking to expand their assortment with refurbished or pre-owned inventory. It’s a strong opportunity for sellers in electronics, accessories, and other eligible categories to grow revenue while meeting demand for lower-priced alternatives.
Apply now
Sellers can apply directly from Seller Center. For full details on eligibility, conditions, warranties, returns, and technical requirements, see the official Walmart guide.
If you do not see the program in your Seller Center, this means you do not yet have enough selling experience on Walmart or you do not meet certain standards. You can open a support ticket with Walmart to ask for details if the reasons are not obvious.
