Amazon is updating how Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) and Buy with Prime orders are packaged and shipped in the US. These changes roll out between April 1 and 30, 2026.
What is changing:
- Packing slips will no longer be included by default
- SIPP-certified products will ship without Amazon overboxes
- Eligible shipments may receive SIPP discounts
What it means for sellers:
Less packaging
If your products are SIPP-certified, they will ship in their own packaging. This reduces waste and can improve customer experience.
Lower costs
SIPP shipments may qualify for discounts, potentially reducing fulfillment costs.
Operational impact
No packing slips by default means you may need to adjust processes if you rely on them for branding or returns.
More control via API
If you use the Fulfillment Outbound API, you can still control packing slip and overbox settings per order.
What you should do:
- Check if your ASINs are SIPP eligible
- Review your MCF settings
- Decide if you want to opt out or keep defaults
If no action is taken, Amazon will automatically apply these changes.

MCF and Buy with Prime packaging updates for US start April 1
Starting in April 2026, we’re making updates to Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) and Buy with Prime, including how orders are packaged and shipped in the United States, to help reduce packaging waste and align MCF and Buy with Prime more closely with existing Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) packaging practices.
Updates include the following:
- Packing slips will no longer be included by default.
- Items already certified for the Ships in Product Packaging (SIPP) program on Amazon.com will ship without an Amazon overbox by default.
- Eligible MCF and Buy with Prime SIPP shipments will receive a discount.
These updates will roll out gradually from April 1-30, 2026. SIPP discounts will begin applying as soon as your SIPP-certified items start shipping.
Check whether your ASINs are eligible or certified for SIPP in Seller Central. Starting in April, these settings will apply to FBA, MCF, and Buy with Prime orders.
If you would like to opt out of SIPP or include a packing slip with all MCF and Buy with Prime orders, go to Multi-Channel Fulfillment Settings. These settings will take effect in April, but you can update them now and change them at any time.
If you use the Fulfillment Outbound API to send MCF orders, you can configure overbox and packing slip settings at the order level.
If no action is taken by the time these updates take effect, MCF and Buy with Prime orders will ship without packing slips, and SIPP-certified items will begin shipping without Amazon overboxes.
