Amazon Tests Sales Label to Highlight Popular Products

Marketplace Pulse has reported that Amazon is testing a new label on its website and app highlighting recent product sales. The label shows rounded sales figures to hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands, capped at 100,000, over a period of a week or a month. The change is visible only to some users as it is still in the testing phase.

The new metric is a clear signal of a product’s popularity and is aimed at helping shoppers easily identify popular products. This new feature is similar to what AliExpress and Temu already offer. While the data is not yet available to sellers through Seller Central or APIs, it is expected that product research tools will start to incorporate it to improve accuracy.
