New Feedback Policy for Facebook Marketplace and Shops

Facebook Marketplace announced changes to its feedback policy to crack down on fake reviews and spam. As a consequence, Facebook will give extra scrutiny to reviews posted on the platform. The new policy provides clearer guidelines on what types of community feedback are allowed and ensures that reviews are based on real purchasing experiences.

The reviews will be performed by human reviewers, but also by machine learning models, so there may be situations where feedback is marked as spam incorrectly. If the person who left feedback or the seller who received it feels that the decision to remove it was mistaken, they can request another review.

The new policy was created to ensure that reviews are based on real purchasing experiences, and to keep irrelevant, fraudulent and offensive feedback off of our platforms.
