Walmart Launches Negative Feedback Rate to Improve Seller Quality

Walmart Marketplace is introducing a new Seller Performance Standard called the Negative Feedback Rate (NFR) — a key metric to help improve customer experience and seller performance.

What is NFR?
It measures the percentage of items sold in the last 60 days that received a 1- or 2-star review.

Calculation:
Orders with 1–2 star ratings ÷ total unique items sold in 60 days.

Target:
Keep your NFR at 2% or below to avoid potential account issues.

Who it affects:
All sellers with seller-fulfilled orders that receive customer reviews on Walmart.

When it starts:
The metric will appear in your Seller Center Performance dashboard soon and becomes an official standard in early 2026. API access will follow.

What to do now:

  • Review feedback in Seller Center.
  • Ensure product listings are accurate.
  • Check UPC associations.
  • Respond promptly to customers.
