How it works
Products eligible for faster delivery are clearly marked in the Amazon app and website. Customers can also filter search results by “in 1 hour” or “in 3 hours,” and browse a dedicated storefront.
Behind the scenes, Amazon is using its existing Same-Day fulfillment network. These facilities handle the full process in one place, from picking and packing to final delivery. Combined with AI-based inventory placement, this allows Amazon to speed up delivery without building entirely new infrastructure.
Why it matters
Amazon continues to move toward instant fulfillment. Faster delivery increases conversion rates, especially for everyday items and urgent purchases.
This also raises the bar for sellers and logistics providers. Customers now expect near-instant delivery not just for groceries, but for a wide range of products.
Amazon is also testing even faster options like Amazon Now, targeting deliveries in around 30 minutes in select areas.
