Walmart Updates Pro Seller Program: New Metrics and Benefits (May 2025)

Walmart is making updates to its Pro Seller program, which rewards sellers with benefits that grow as they move through tiers—Rising Seller, Advanced Seller, and Pro Seller. All sellers are eligible, and progress is automatic once requirements are met.

What’s Changing?

Walmart is replacing the “Delivery Score” metric (the promised delivery date accuracy) with a “Shipping Score”, which is based on the percentage of items offering free expedited shipping.

Of course, it is still important to meet promised delivery times, and you can improve this metric using Walmart’s Simplified Shipping Settings.

Pro Seller Program 2025:

To meet the new Shipping Score requirement (which replaces the old Delivery Score metric), sellers must offer free expedited shipping on a certain percentage of their items:

  • Rising Seller: at least 5% of items
  • Advanced Seller: at least 25% of items
  • Pro Seller: at least 50% of items

What is Expedited shipping?

Expedited shipping means delivering an order faster than standard shipping, on Walmart Marketplace, this is done through OneDay or TwoDay Delivery programs. See this guide for more details.

One effective way to improve your Shipping Score is by using Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), which enables fast and reliable delivery with free two-day shipping on eligible items.

This new metric (Shipping Score) replaces the previous Delivery Score, which measured the accuracy of promised delivery dates. The change gives sellers more control, as offering free expedited shipping is more actionable than relying on carrier performance. With the old Delivery Score metric, even if you shipped an order quickly, a carrier delay could hurt your score, which felt unfair and out of your control.

New Benefit Added

Pro Sellers will now also receive Search Engine Marketing (SEM) credit—a new perk to help boost visibility and sales.
