eBay Enhances Streetwear Authenticity Process with New Buyer and Seller Alerts
eBay is updating its Streetwear authenticity process to inform both buyers and sellers about item discrepancies. Previously, the process involved authentication and listing accuracy checks, where buyers were informed of discrepancies and could choose to proceed or return the item. Starting mid-February, sellers will receive notifications through Seller Hub and email, while buyers will be notified via email and their eBay accounts. This feature, first applied to Handbags US in September 2023, will extend to additional categories and markets throughout the first half of the year.

eBay has unveiled a cutting-edge “magical listing” tool that employs artificial intelligence to extract product details directly from images. This innovation aims to streamline the listing process, particularly assisting first-time sellers who might find the initial listing creation daunting. Sellers upload photos in the eBay app, and the AI recommends titles, descriptions, and other crucial information. The tool, which is currently in beta testing among eBay employees, is set to be released to the broader public soon. Alongside this, eBay has enhanced its image background removal tool to further aid sellers in presenting clearer product images. Major retailers, including Amazon and Walmart, have similarly integrated AI into their operations to enhance user experience.

eBay Promoted Listings Standard fees are changing on March 30, 2023
Starting March 30, 2023, eBay is expanding its advertising program to include Halo Item sales. A Halo Item sale occurs when a buyer clicks on one of your Standard ads and purchases a different Promoted Listings Standard item from you within 30 days. This is also known as the “halo” effect.
