Amazon’s Prime Day 2019

This year Amazon’s Prime Day will run for 48 hours, starting at midnight PDT on July 15th and ending at 11:59 p.m. PDT on July 16th. Prime Day, often referred to as Christmas in July or Summer Black Friday is run in 16 different countries giving sellers an opportunity for sales spikes mid-year.

Due to the timing of Prime Day, back-to-school is a leading category. According to the National Retail Federation, in 2018 approximately 79% of buyers planned to shop Amazon for their back to school needs during Prime Day. Although buyers used to shop closer to the start of the school year, Prime Day is gaining traction as a great time to score lower-priced supplies, especially for teachers looking to stock their classrooms.

  • In 2018 the Instant Pot was the top-selling product on Prime Day in the US
